Session Title:

Diversity & Inclusion Jumpstart Kit - The Journey from Concept to Implementation

 

Session Description:

This session will review the Diversity & Inclusion Jumpstart Kit and show the attendees how to strategically walk through the various components of the jumpstart kit and utilize the information within to create a diversity and inclusion program at their respective organization. The attendees will walk away with a thorough understanding of what it will take to create a diversity and inclusion program, including best practices, how to identify where their organization is on the diversity and inclusion continuum, top 10 rules of engagement, potential obstacles and sample reporting and metrics.

 

3 Learning Objectives:

Attendees will learn the basics of diversity, equity and inclusion and determine if their organization is ready to implement a diversity, equity and inclusion program, and if so, how to go about implementing a diversity, equity and inclusion program utilizing the Diversity & Inclusion Jumpstart Kit offered by IMA.

 

Speaker Bio:

Karmin Bailey has worked in Finance, Procurement and Business Diversity utilizing her management accountant skills in various roles throughout her 20 + years career. Karmin spent more than 10 years as the Manager, Finance for the Columbus Regional Airport Authority and is currently the Director, Procurement, Compliance & Business Diversity.

She has been an IMA member since 2014 and is a Global Director of the IMA serving a term from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2022 and is a member of the Performance Oversight and Audit Committee. Karmin is also a current member of the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee and a Co-Chairperson for the Research Working Group. As part of her time on the DE&I Committee, Karmin was instrumental in crafting the Diversity and Inclusion Jumpstart Kit for IMA. Karmin is also a member of the Stuart Cameron McLeod Society.

Karmin also serves on the Columbus Advisory Board for the Ohio Diversity Council. Karmin was named Outstanding Diversity Champion by Columbus Business First in June 2020 and the Columbus Regional Airport Authority was named Inclusion Champion-Medium Hub Airports by Airports Council International in June 2019. Karmin Bailey graduated from The Ohio State University with dual majors in Accounting and Finance. Karmin earned her Certified Management Accountant designation in 2015 and she is also a Certified Public Finance Officer and Contract Compliance Administrator.
