Critical Thinking and Creative Problem-Solving –
Much focus nowadays is on the importance of critical and analytical thinking, but less on creative thinking, yet we want out-of-the box solutions. One of the top skills identified by CEOs needed in this century is creativity. This session presents how we need both critical thinking and creative problem-solving to advance our organizations. In order to advance, we need to understand that arriving to out-of-the-box solutions is a process that can be taught and improved upon. In addition, the speaker is currently working with a manufacturing firm to help their factory personnel think more proactively on the floor. This one-hour session will teach participants the dance between what we describe as convergent and divergent thinking and why you need both to improve your thinking output. We will also discuss your creative problem-solving preferences and learn techniques for effective brainstorming.
