President's Message

Thank you to the chapter members who attended our dinner meeting last month when we heard from Rena Sebor, PhD and Michael Barhorst, CMA of Sinclair Community College and Sue McMillan of Trimble.  Our May 19th dinner meeting is Past President Night, during which we will honor the past chapter presidents in attendance.  Sri Ramamoorti, PhD, CPA, CFE, CIA of The University of Dayton will speak on “The Mixed Blessing: Golden Era of AI and the Triple Debt Risks.”  He will talk about several facets of the impact of Artificial Intelligence on the accounting and finance profession.  Dr. Ramamoorti has published multiple articles on the topic, including two new articles earlier this year.

The Dayton Chapter is still recruiting for chapter board positions over the next week.  If you have an interest in joining the Dayton Chapter board in one of four available leadership roles or volunteering in a limited capacity as a flexible volunteer, there are many opportunities available.  Please reach out to Paul Myers or me by Tuesday, May 26th to express your interest and/or to learn more.

Our next chapter social event is scheduled for Wednesday, May 27th at 6:00 p.m. at The Hairless Hare Brewery located at 738 W National Rd, Vandalia, OH 45377.  We hope to see you there.

We’ll keep you informed of any other social events that we schedule over the next several months.  Enjoy the summer, and we’ll see you when our dinner meetings resume in September.

Best Regards,

Tanya Shell, CMA, CSCA, CPA
